Last run of 46
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
This should be a 10k a.m. humpday run. Instead it’s a 5k a.m. beach run. Yesterday and early this morning it rained which made moving slower than normal this morning. I thought a beach run would be great. Once at the beach, there was a low tide and I was able to walk further out into the water, which was cool. To my joy, I has two miles of running in the 9’s. 9:59min/mile at 2miles and 9:30min/mile at 3.
I think I’m improving, getting back to my groove, not bad at 46. I was thinking about this whole year. When I turned 46, running in 4 more states was put on a hold. I found out I had breast cancer and had a lumpectomy. I didn’t run for six weeks because I had to heal. This year has been a year of zooming, online teaching, not seeing my friends physically. Also, getting fully vaccinated, meeting my Iowan, and having a book contract. Oh what a year. Thursday, I’ll rest up before my birthday run.
