8a.m. Fall Hike
Covid-19, “ The Rona Era”
Today is a perfect day to run. 45 degrees out and the sun will be out later on today. It’s a beautiful crisp day for a run or walk or a hike. I asked my friend Nichola to meet me at Borderland State Park for an 8a.m. hike. Still would be a great way for us to catch up, move our bodies, then have breakfast afterwards. Usually when I meet up with my girlfriends cocktails are involved. We make our social plans around cocktails and dinning outing. Don’t get me wrong, those are fabulous. It’s important for us to move and stay healthy, as best we can. The majority of my friends aren’t runners, that is perfectly fine. We need to do more physical social activities because are no longer spring chickens.
All that to say, Nichola and I were at the park, right when they opened. It was quiet, beautiful , and the sun was slowly starting to rise above the trees. After we paid for parking, we started walking. We walked, laughed, and talked each other’s ear off as we caught up with our lives. When we finished it was 9:30 a.m. and we walked over 4 miles.
Afterwards we at breakfast at Angel’s Cafe with Coffee, orange juice, water, and no mimosas. That was ok, too.
