Another warm winter morning ( day II)
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
It’s 31 degrees on a lightly snowing Thursday morning. Today would be a good morning to run because tomorrow the temperature is suppose to be in the teens. I wanted to make up for Wednesday’s no 10k a.m. humpday run. I was very careful when I started to run on the pavement. It was still dark . I couldn’t tell if there was black ice or water reflecting on the street. It’s too warm for black ice but you never know.
At six a.m. there were a lot of cars and buses out. People are moving and going to work. I decided to run on the street going towards Chelsea. Taking the main road was literally an uphill battle. I wanted to shock my body a bit and not just run on flat pavement. As I ran uphill, I ran on my toes to get my momentum going.
The people I did see out were walking. A couple of times I had to run on the sidewalk behind them because there wasn’t enough room between me, the parked cars, and the moving ones. Still, being dark out, I was the only person with reflective gear…aka my headlight.
I ran through Mary o’Mallory park. Unfortunately the walking path in the park was covered with snow. I stayed on the street that runs through the park. I did see one runner. A tall, black man, no reflective gear, pass by me.
I felt good and strong while running. Good pace. 6.03 10:35min/mil. 1:03:42, all before the snow started to come down.
