Fall running in Summer
COVID-19 “The Rona Era”
Track Tuesday is a like a fall morning. Today is the perfect running weather day for me. Since fall is coming it isn’t as bright as it normally would be for 5:30 in the morning. The rain from yesterday only added to the grey and wetness of the morning.
My plan for today was run a mile before hitting the track. Run two miles on the track and then a mile home.
When I ran to the track it was almost empty with the exception of three people. The’ park lights were still on as I ran to the stadium. I did some squats before I started to run around the track. I’m slowly starting to like running on the track. It’s good for my knees and I run at a faster pace.
As the morning got later( 6:15-6:30ish), I started to see more people come on the track to run/walk or workout. As I looked around, I saw familiar faces for the Tuesday a.m. Track crew. So, I always see a group of three walking on the track, two women and one man. I think they might be apart of an organization because they were the same shirt. At some point I need to find out what the shirt says and organization they may be apart of.
Then I see an Asian American woman running. She is a bad ass. There is a Latino man that I see running and walking.
Everyone was on the track today along with some people that I don’t see. Adjust to the track is a baseball field. I’m thinking there was a YMCA workout class going on.
My body is use to running around the track four times ( 1 mile). For the next four, I ran at pace on the straight aways and picked up speed around the curbs. That was my body challenge to myself.
Unlike yesterday, I had energy, a good stride and endurance. I didn’t have to stop. To be honest I could have run a 10k today. I’m not trying to push it.
It was a perfect 4.21 fall running miles this morning.
