Tuesday run mashup
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
It’s 68 degrees at 5:45a.m. I feel a breeze and no intense sun right now. I think I’m good. Since I’m missing the pre COVID-19, track tuesday’s at the Reggie or MIT track with the Heartbreakers running club, I decided to do a track Tuesday run. I ran the “ long” way to East Boston Stadium. I made sure not go fast just steady. I was aware of the feelings in left knee. My pain is on the right side of my knee. It feels like it is sore, tight but the pain doesn’t go away.
It was 1.88 miles before I ran into the Brenman park to get to the stadium. Running through the park, I saw people, mostly walking to the T to go to work. That wasn’t bad.
When I ran into the stadium, that is the safe exercise space that everyone went to. There were so many runners and walkers on the track. People, at least 3 were running/walking up the stadium steps. There was that one guy who was flipping a tire on the field. Not sure where the tire came from. Oh and the ladies that came in with their yoga mats. I guess they will walk before yoga-ing.
The interesting thing about being on the track and in my neighborhood, I could see the racial and ethnic diversity of the community. The majority of people were black and brown folks, mostly brown. I’m glad there was a recreational spot that was available and people had access too. This is not always the case.
For my mashup, I did 10 squats after running around once on the track. I did three squat sets. Then I tried to do some of the steps but it was getting hot and I was sweating in all the spaces. The sun was coming it. It is going to be in the 90s today.
I did a couple of steps and ran home for a 3.88 mile run.
