10 MILER!!!!!
CORVID-19 ERA The Ronna
Sunday was going to be the day. 10 miles. I think it’s time. I should try at least to see what my baseline line is. I’ve ran 7 what’s 3 more miles. Should have just done 8 and slowly progressed. Too much over thinking, I was just going to do and feel and stop where and if I needed to. Done.
This morning my fellow BGR Boston sole sista was running on the same trail that I was. The minuteman trail. We were going to start running at 6:15 a.m. She was going to run 20 miles, I was going to try for my 10. We would run together but social distancing apart. It was 27 degrees out, windy and nippy.
For a while I was running parallel with K but she was trying to keep up with my pace, which she told me was too fast. I had to tell her to slow down, she had 20 miles to run. I was just trying to see if I could do 10. We chatted for a bit. Then I went ahead at my pace, checking and yelling behind me to make sure she was good.
Be planned to stop at the 5 mile marker. That would be my turn around point and her quick rest before her addition 5 miles then turning back.
The start of morning was quiet expect for the birds chirping their hearts away. I saw robins and bluejays. It was too cold for a picture. On the trail I did see people, thou at right not many walking and running. I saw two people that had mask on, they had their faces covered up when they ran. I even saw three Asian- American walkers and runners. I made sure to say Hi to them. People and that man in office are just so racist. That’s for a longer blog and chapter.
Besides the brisk air it was nice, it was especially nice to see the sun come up. I was truly in nature. For the first three miles I ran without music. I was talking with K and I just wanted to listen to the sounds.
Running I good, strong, good pace, good stride. When K made it to the 5 mile marker we did some social distance photos. One 3 feet away the other 6. We chatted, she ran onward and I turned around.
On the way back it was getting lighter and later( 8 ish a.m.) and I started to see more people out walking and running. More adults with there little kids out and more older people walking. Either walking solo or with a friend.
My hastag this who time has been nautreisopen. I saw geese and ran along a lake. Nature is nice.
I was making good time. I finished 10 miles in 1:46 minutes. Not a bad first baseline.
To be honest around mile 9 my knee and I had a conversation.
Knee: This is too much we’re done.
Me: We are doing good, we are almost there.
Knee: F - you
Me: Calm you shit, we are almost there
Knee: whatever
Me: I’ll ice you and give you pancakes when we get home
Knee: ugh, fine, let’s finish.
This is how the first week of the Everything close Ronna and Spring break 2020 ends.
