MRI, conditioning, and sweat
Oh my goodness! I haven’t posted in 5 days. I haven’t run or workout in 5 days. I really need to get a handle on the knee. To do that, this week is health week. Tuesday was dentist and today was MRI. For my first time, and hopefully last, it was an overall pleasant experience. It took 20 minutes, I got ear plugs, my body didn’t go all the way in the machine. I didn’t feel claustrophobic. The MRI was a mobile MRI. It was like be in a trailer but not. Above the MRI there was a beautiful bright and I think calming picture of the sky, trees, and birds. That cracked me up. The MRI technician team was awesome. Julie, who will be 50 this year has the same birth date as me. I already felt good. I did that. Hopefully the results will be good.
Later on tonight I went to the Cal- Zone for conditioning club. There were 10 different stations and we did each one 4 times for a total of 40 exercises. I finally was able to work on a good sweat and get the heart pumping a bit. Lots of upper body, lower body, and strength training. Some things I could not do yet. Riding the bike,,,no. Or doing quick feet….no. I was able to modify with resistance bands.
I’m giving myself the rest of January to not run. Which is killing me but I have to do. To offset that. I’ll be doing Conditioning club and PT each week.
I didn’t realize the emotional toll of not running would have on me. First, I miss it. Yes I said it. Second, I don’t have a way to realize my energy, stress. I’m somewhat depressed about the whole thing.
Patience, being smart, and listening to my body will ensure four more states and four more half’s.
