Last run of the month
The struggle is always real. I’m still feeling under the weather because this cold weather is very disrespectful. You can fill the chill in your bones. I had the heater on in my office and the heat on in my car, in May. This morning I wanted to stay in my warm bed. I had to hit my alarm three times because I didn’t want to get up. I knew I had to because it was Friday and the last day of May 2019. I motivated myself to move, thinking “ last day of the month.” I thought I would run in Charlestown since I hadn’t been that way in a while.
While in driving route to run, old school “ It’s take two” from Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock was playing. My assets was jammin in my car. I didn’t car who share me. That was my motivation music because I was ready to run after that.
I parked my car and ran along the Charlestown HarborWalk. That took me through downtown Boston, Charlestown, and the North End. As I ran, spring felt like she was coming back. I felt warmth and sun. Runners were all out running before 7 a.m. My goal was 6 miles but I got 5.20 miles in, which was great. I’m glad I got up to run on the the last day of May.
