Super Sunday Race

Super Sunday Race

It’s Super Bowl Sunday and it’s Super Sunday 5k/5M race. For the last three years BGR has done this race. Besides this being our February race, it’s also apart of the winter warrior challenge. Many of our members do this race. This year we had 12 members participate in the race. We had new faces race and some that came out to be apart of the cheer squad.

One of new members who lives in Medford, told me how running has become her therapy since she last her husband a year ago. Another new member has run 7 continents in 7 days and she has completed running a marathon in all 50 states. I had to pleasure to run with Ms. Lisa for the first 3 miles. I could not keep up with her to finish our 5 miles together. She is currently training for the Boston marathon. After she finished the race, she kept on running.

A regular member got off of the plane today from Florida and came straight to the race from the airport.

Besides our group being amazing, I got much needed advice after marathon training and my nutrition. I’m not properly fueling my body which explains my lack of gas for running.

Since we have been showing up and turning up, our photographer Brian was there to take our pictures. He’s not our photographer but when we do the race for cancer events he’s always there. We just love him and his crew.

All in all, this was a good running day. Because of ladies I finished 5 miles in 45min time.
