It sooo feels and looks like Fall today. It’s 47 degrees, the leaves are turning color, and layers are needed for Saturday a.m. 8.29 mile long run. I am in need of a long run to burn off all the bat shit crazy of the week. My plan was to run along the Charles River on the Cambridge and Boston side. As I was running on memorial drive (Cambridge side), I realized I hadn’t run further along memorial drive. I decided to stay on the Cambridge side and see how far I could go memorial drive.
I ran from MIT to Harvard to Storrow Drive, which was a nice run. I know I could have kept going into Watertown, Allston, or Brighton. Today’s run was a new exploration for me. And I’m glad I explored.
I saw so many rowers in the river, fall colors of the trees turning, and a surprise Harvard marching band that passed me by.
Fuel for thought: I saw only 1 african-american runner. He made sure to acknowledge me when we passed by each other. I ran for 1 hour and 20 minutes, and he was the only black person i saw. I saw groups of runners, women runners, Asian runners, people with different( heavier) body sizes running but only one black man and one black woman( me) running.
This is the perfect time of the year. I never got hot or over heated but my left knee was feeling some kind of way. I need to rest and ice it more.
Overall a nice fall a.m. long run to burn off my crazy
