End of May

End of May

It's doesn't feel like the last day of the month but it is. I woke up at 4 something with the chirping birds and sunlight. I saw on the 4:30am news that the longfellow bridge, also known as the salt and pepper bridge will be open today.  The bridge has been closed for a couple of years to expand the redline and bike and walking  sidewalks.  The news mention that sunrise is at 5:10am and the bridge will be open at 5am. I thought, what a great way to end the month.

I drove and parked on memorial drive. I think I got the last open parking spot. Once I was out of the car, I started running toward the bridge. It was 5:10 and it was bright and slightly cool at 61 degrees. The bridge was wider and bigger. I was running across the charles river with Cambridge behind me and Boston in  front of me.

When  I crossed over to Boston I ran on the Esplanade. Then I saw all the bikers, runners, walkers, and rowers were all on the water. It was good to be around nature and water. Part of my getting ready for state #36 just without the water.

Along the way, I saw two black women running. They were the only ones. Both had big smiles of good morning when we saw each other. And I did a a group, 4 Indian men running this morning as well. That was the only racial diversity I saw this morning running.

People were out getting in the sun and the pre-morning cool before the day got warmer.
