Mentrual Cramp Mile Down

Mentrual Cramp Mile Down

Last Friday of the month. The last Friday of every month is like "pay- day" for my am runs. For me its a way to reflect and end the month on a strong running note! Besides not believing how fast July went I can get myself ready for the weekend.

This am run, I went to the seaport area to run. I planned on 8 miles along the water and boardwalk. Just as I got started.. BOOM! I was hit with really bad menstrual cramps.  The kind I get maybe once a year. I kind that takes you out.  Yeah, the beauty of being a women, runner, and on your period. I felt as if I was going to pass out. At that moment I was .78 miles in my run. I started to profusely sweat, I felt dizzy and as if my legs would give and I would faint. It was a very cool morning but I couldn't stop sweating.

I was thankful I had my runner id wrist band. I just had to make it to my car and not faint. It was a good thing I had just started. At one point walking back I had to sit down on a bench to catch my breathe because the pain was so bad. No sure how long I was sitting. I knew I needed to get up. Slowly, I got up, hunched over and made my way to my car. Once in my car, I opened up the gatorade ans started drinking, mild relief. I had to get home.

Good thing I live close by. But of course the drive seemed like it took forever and everyone was driving slow.  Once I got home I became one with my toilet and cold bathroom floor. After a coupleofhours the world was great again. That is how the last Friday of the month got started. :)
