BGR First Summer Friday

ohhh, First Friday of Summer!! whoo- whoo. This Friday's am run, I ran at 5am with some of my Black Girls Run sole sistas in Franklin Park. I was excited that they wanted to run at 5am. I ran 4 miles, some did more some did less. The important part in all thiswasthe fact that black women wereexercising this morning. The thought of the Republicans trying to repeal the Affordable Health Care Act, made this morning extra special. I know Black women suffer from a higher percent of varies health issues. Plus we saw several groups of black women and men running and walking all before6am.

I must admit, I was truly in awe. I had never seen so many black people exercising in one spot. There wasn't any special event going on, it was a Friday morning. We weretaking control of our own health situation....LOVE IT
