Impression Manangement

I can't believe I've never notice this payphone. HA. When is the last time someone saw or payphone or used one? Then phone was in front of the police station and that takes on a different meaning of " Who are you going to call"........... My morning laugh.

So, this morning's run helped me to process an email I need to respond to. When you get an email and it pisses you off and you respond back( at least start typing back) and you have 6 paragraphs which translates to"This is how I really feel". Then you stop. Walk away or run for 3 miles.  Come back, edit, then you have 1 paragraph, "This is what I have to say so I won't get fired and I'm not seen as crazy"( new translation).

It's such a pain to always edit yourself. In sociology we call this " impression management"  . Those impressions also translates via emails or phone calls. Your social identity( race, gender, sexuality,social class,  body,etc..) also shapes how you manage your "image" and sense of self to other people.  What you say, how you say it, how you use your body, etc.... and the different spaces you use it..work, school, among friends, family.

Hopefully you can use it in a good way and still come out ahead.
