July 19 Running back in the big small town
First time running back in Boston this week. After state #17 I had to rest up on Monday. You don't realize how tired your body is until you stop. And its ok to rest and not beat yourself up about it. I don't think it was wise of me to rest but yet go to a Soul Cycle class later on yesterday evening. My thighs are like " are you really running and doing this again to us". I was a bight tight this morning
Even with tight thighs the morning weather was in the 60s and cool. It was good to see all the people who are up at 5:30am going to work, smelling baked goods from the bakery, and smelling the ocean, and seeing my Boston city skyline. It was good to be back to the route and familiar: The small big town of Boston with less than 700,000 people compared to 2.7 million of the City of Chicago.
As I ran and passed by the middle school and saw this mural I thought, if students are caught plagiarizing a paper in school( middle, high, and college) they get kicked out. So how does that work at a national stage ? Oh well
Today I planned on running 6 miles but 3 worked out just fine for a Tuesday
