First February 10 miler
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Hello February. Time for another Saturday 10 miler. I wanted to run in Netown with the Hearbreakers but that did not happened. What happened was………. We (BGR) had a winter weather clinic with REI last night. The event was from 7:30-10pm. I love REI Cambridge. We had a great lesson on what to wear during the cold. How to properly layer up and protect yourself while running. The Iowan came too. He wanted to go out afterwards, which we did. So long story short, I didn’t wake up until 6ish. If I went to bed early and didn’t have a long Friday, I would have been parked at Heartbreak Running club in Newton by 6:30a.m.
I had to figure out a new plan. Running around the Charles, I knew I could run 10 miles. It was closer, and wouldn’t be too bad with loads of runners around.
7:25a.m. I was parked on memorial drive and ready to run. I learned from REI, it’s ok to be cold for a bit because you will warm up soon. I didn’t have many layers on and I was fine.
It was busy along the Charles. Lots of runners and group runners. I saw two black men running. We acknowledge each other.
The weather was good and I felt tired. I didn’t rest enough and strength training class on a Friday might not have been the best idea. It was a bit of a struggle but I got it done today.
10.4 miles; 11:14 ave pace; 1:52:48 mins.
