Post Rain Run
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Yesterday was opening day on campus. Also known as the first day back on campus. It was also Primary election day. To add to all the fun was the non stop rain. I didn’t run yesterday. I made sure to do 15 minutes of “ fat burning yoga” to get my body moving. At 7:06 a.m. I showed up to the polls to vote before heading to campus for the all day activities. By 8pm last night I was in bed. My 12 hour day kicked my ass.
This morning, Wednesday I woke up early. Did yoga stretches and drove over to the Mystic to run. I love the smell and the feeling after it rains. The air smells clean and fresh. Everything seems new and refreshed. I thought I wouldn’t push it.
Normally this would be a 10k a.m. humpday run. I’m still building, post surgery recovery to get back to my pace and stamina.
5k was my ease in mileage. I ran 5 miles. I could have done six but I have to slow my roll. It’s still summer but fall in knocking at the door. At 5:30a.m., I had to wear my headlight because it was still dark outside. Too soon damit, too soon.
5.01 miles- 10:40/mile pace. We’ll see where I am next week. Always a work in progress
