1st Monday of Spring
COVID 19, “The Rona Era”
It’s the first Monday of Spring and there are 28 days left until the Boston Marathon. I have to get my assets up and go running. It’s crunch time. For a spring morning it is nippy at 43 degrees. I’m determine to train and get moving. I got up early so I can do my morning stretches before I left the house. I drove in the dark via moonlight. I made sure to get my headlight out so I could run in the dark via moonlight.
There was no one on the walk/run path when I started running on along the Mystic River. I just forged ahead. I saw five people at the rowing center, outside using a rowing machine while a couple of coaches, coached them.
I kept on my moonlit path. I was still feeling good and strong and didn’t have any knee pain. As the sun started to rise, I could still see the moon. The closer I got to assembly row, I saw a couple of runners but mostly I saw the construction workers around the row.
I have to get use to running for a long time. I’m probably going to be running for 4 to 5 hours on the Boston Marathon course. This morning I ran 6.07 miles at a 10:43 mile/pace which took 1:05:01. Today was a good morning and I’ll take it.
