Friday 5 miler
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
It’s Friday and day #3 of Radiation treatment. Last night around 8pm, I was extremely tired. No work or planning of work Friday happened. This morning, I debated if I should go for a run or sleep in. I kept hearing my doctors voice tell me how running, walking, and really moving my body is good for radiation treatment. That motivated me to get up.
Watching the news, I saw it was going to be a hot day, I needed to get up and get out. Today radiation starts at 10a.m. not my usual 8:15a.m. time. I can run and do some work before treatment. No excuses not to get up and run.
This morning I drove to South Boston. My plan was to run to castle island and come back. I was able to run longer than walking this morning. I still feel that annoyance around my groin area but the annoyance has been greatly reduced.
Slow and steady. I was able to run one mile, then I decided to walk a bit before picking up the run again. Castle Island is one of those places were everyone comes to walk, run, or just hang out at 6 a.m. in the morning. I saw two men walking their dogs with their DD cups and PJ’s on. They looked like PJ’s but I could just be judgy right now.
The heat and humidity were coming, I could feel it. Another reason to be slow and steady. Progress is happening and I feel good about it.
