43 degree, 5 miler Beach Run
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Today is the warmest day of the week. It’s coming to be in the 50s. I had to take advantage of the situation and run on the beach. It is December and it’s 43 degrees out. Who knows if we will have any more days like this is New England. I’m sure we will pay for the lovely day later on in the season. But, right now, it’s lovely.
I planned on a 5k run but I ran 5.60 miles on the beach. For the most part it was quiet and dark. I didn’t get to the beach until 6:20a.m. My stalker birds were in a frenzy this morning. Not sure what was going on. I kept seeing all the planes flying into Logan airport. If the beach was quiet, the air was busy.
I did see a couple run on the beach but I saw more people walking. That only increased as it got lighter. I felt good and strong while running. If I didn’t have a hair appointment at 9 a.m. I could have done 6 miles or even 10 miles. It was just that nice out and I was in that kind of a groove.
I knew around 7 a.m. it was suppose to rain, and it did. It was a light sprinkle not torrential downpours, which I can handle.
The beach was closed up. I managed my way onto the sand, shells, and walking next to the water. Again, there was quiet. The tide was high and no one was around expect for the stalkers. There is a calm and peace to be around the water. At some points, I walked on the beach, other spots, I kept on running.
Thursday was a good beach run December morning.
