Smiles, bees, and planes on a Monday
COVID-19, ‘ The Rona’
The last week of July scares me. What happened to the month. What happened to this season called summer. I remember when summer was time off, time to recharge, less work, more social engagement with friends and outings. Clearly not this “ summer”, it’s just been hot.
I am making it my goal to run everyday during the last days of this month. For me, August starts getting ready for back to school. Since I am teaching 60 freshman online, I have a lot of things to learn because I’m use to teaching face to face. That’s an aside.
Today, I wanted to run by the water, so I picked Constitution Beach. At 5:45 a.m. I was able to get the coolness of the morning. I saw three people playing tennis on the tennis court. One person was just hitting balls by themselves.
Running along the beach I can see plans taking off and landing at Logan Airport. To my surprise, there were so many planes ( compared to a month or two ago) that were up in the air. I know the airlines are no where near capacity like they were last summer at this same time. The airport , at least from the planes I saw looked pretty active.
To look at the water, boats, and see the planes is a pretty awesome running view. Then I saw all the bees. The bees were in these purple flowers, flying in and out. Clearly there were not the killer hornets. I got close but not too close.
Leaving the beach area I hit the city streets to make a loop back to the beach and I saw a sign that made me smile.
This was a nice 3.20 mile run with many beautiful things to see to start of the day and week.
