After the Rain
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Tuesday was a wash out. It rain on and off all day long. I had to turn on my heat because of the cold rain( my windows stayed open during the rain). I did plan to run Tuesday morning, there was a slight drizzle. I’m not a fan of running in the rain but a slight drizzle was fine. The slight drizzle quickly turned into hard, fast, and lots of rain. I did a shred workout with Chloe Ting instead.
Today is Wednesday, a new day. The rain is gone and I need to run my 10k a.m. humpday run. Similar to the narratives of Wednesday of late. I just wanted to stay in bed. The heat on, warm blanket kept me in bed longer than I would have liked. Eventually I got up.
I was planning on a mile and then a shred workout out. I layered up because I knew it would be cold. I was incorrect. It was a nice 55 degrees and later today the temperature will be in the 70s. I had on too much clothing. I was not going to go back inside, I was going to run.
I didn’t have a specific route in mind, I just ran. I love the smell of fresh air after a hard rain. I didn’t see many people at first. Just the usual subjects: construction works, gym rates, and folks walking to work.
I knew it would be too early for stalkers and I would be safe. I ran into a lot of the fall leaves that had fallen on the ground. Even saw some Halloween decorations on houses.
3.23 miles in for the morning. I left the house at 6:15a.m. and ran a 11:13 min/mil. I was taking everything in.
