Road to Wellness 5k- 5th year Anniversary

Today is the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have be training for this all summer long. My most favorite race and event!! Road to Wellness 5k. I just love seeing community members and all the black and brown faces that show up to walk and run in Roxbury.

We got our BGR tent up, nail station, flowers, and raffle ready to go. This year we worried about the rain that was suppose to happen. Two my friends canceled because they didn’t want their little children to be out in the rain and cold, totally understandable.

We got lucky, the rain stayed away and it was perfect running weather. I know the forecast turned some people away but many more still came out.

This year Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley and Mayor Walsh hung out at our tent. We even busted out a community soul train line to Beyonce’s Before I let you go.

This race and community event always makes me happy. We gave out cards and information about BGR and what we do. Every year we keep evolving and getting better. Just like the race. This year over 1,000 people signed up to run.
