It's Friday

It's Friday

Now it feels like summer. 71 degrees before 6 a.m. and I'm hot and sweaty. I know I shouldn't but I wanted to run along the water. It's flat and lovely. This doesn't help running in the hills and dryness of Napa Valley but I did it anyway. 5.50miles. Today, everyone was out. I ran into a friend from workout class and while running an older white white gave me the thumbs up and said " keep it going girl". What? I just had to laugh and keep moving. He was very happy to see me and support me.

Fuel for Thought: I'm waiting for the day when someone will call the police on me for running while black. I was thinking about all the white women who have called on african- americans just for being in a space ( which they assume is theirs anyway). I ran in predominately white neighborhoods and spaces. Today was a good interaction with people on the beach but when( not if) will that that happen to me?
