Howling Wolf Half Marathon and 6k
This was the race for TEAM BGR for October. My #girlgang had the second largest team for the race. Just hours before there was a No’easter with heavy winds and rain. The good thing was the No’easter was happening on Saturday and would clear out by Sunday.
While at the Zoo, the race took place at the Stone Zoo, I was able to get the ladies bib # and hats.
I told everyone to show up Saturday at 6:45 a.m. for pictures. The half started at 8 and the 6k started at 8:20.
At one point I didn’t even feel my toes. I was beyond happy for my gloves. Since this was a pre-Halloween race I did “ dress-up” to run. By dressing up, I put on the outfit one of my #girlgang members made last run to run in the 5k Thanksgiving Turkey Trot.
The race itself was a nice loop around Pond Park. I would come back to run on my own.
After-Party.
After the race, the post race party was in the Zoo. As usual we had a BGR take over.
It was odd, as we are in the ZOO pit with the DJ dancing and all the white runners were just looking on at us. As if we were the entertainment and the monkeys. Most stayed away and watched. Then we asked the DJ to play that white music “ White Caroline” and they all came
