Lone sailor
To run or not to run this am, that is the question. At some point this week I need my two days off to let me body rest. Today I'll be on campus from 7am-9pm. I decided to run a light 5k since this will be my only movement of the day.
Since spring is here the birds chirp around 4 am. I was up and ready to go. This morning, I wanted to visit Winthrop and Deer Island since it has been a while. As I was running and the sun was coming up, I saw a lone boat sailing past the sun. The lone solider in the vast ocean. That is how I felt this morning. That was my fuel for thought: sometimes you have to be out there on your own but in the end you will get to your destination. You have to keep on keeping on.
Just like that ship was keeping on the move. Part of my thoughts stem from the Boston marathon weekend and also meeting so many African-american runners that are apart of the national black marathon associations.
My Fuel was thought: how can more women of color become visual in a white space of running? Lots of thoughts for 3 miles.. :)
